Graphic and Game Designer Greg Favro is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Spire’s End: Hildegard, a stand-alone solo and cooperative card game and the spiritual successor to 2019’s Spire’s End. Whereas the original game featured a rather grim thematic setting and monochromatic color palette, Spire’s End: Hildegard instead opts for a more warm and vibrant approach which Greg Favro lovingly describes on the game’s crowdfunding page as “card game comfort food”.

“You play as our young hero Hildegard on her first assignment as a messenger. She’s been tasked with delivering a mysterious package of utmost importance to the coast. But, the journey won’t be easy! Rumors are rampant about what you’re carrying! Along the way you’ll encounter dodgy townsfolk, wildlife critters, irate carnies, natural disasters and a boatload of fallen leaves. You may also enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities including: fishing, hiking, hunting, foraging and maybe even a little river boating.

Hildegard isn’t yet versed in the art of war. Her main line of defense is a slingshot, her wit and a dashing smile. That being said, combat is a simple, fun and a quick affair with a short set of dice rolls and an immediate outcome. The dice chucking has been mitigated to various lengths through the encounter criteria.

Whether you defeat your enemies or not, your fate will unfold after your dice ‘sets’ are complete. The game will end when the storyline you've taken reaches its natural conclusion. There are many.”
